Rule of thumb: the mass of CO2 from a single transatlantic crossing is a bit larger than the airframe of the plane itself. (A departing plane is about 40% fuel, which triples in mass as it is burnt.) So every plane landing at JFK, for ex., has left its own mass behind in the sky.
