I honestly don’t know why I don’t have any drive to transform work into money. I’m a spoiled brad. A “product” of the social structure of the Netherlands.
Finished my school carrier in 1997. Knowing nothing about how to cash in on my education. No wonder, I studied for artist.
I’m living in my theorized closed of world. Thinking about this ideal situation where I’m 100% productive and my idea’s about contributing value to the world have no limitations. Where I can freely invest time and money.
I can’t escape my world, it’s as real as the world we mostly agree upon. Desperately seeking common-ground and trying to stay there and in the process wonders of to / gets pleasantly lost in the world of fantasy and ecstasy. I’m out-there.
This Monday I finalized my pre-request for welfare. And had a great talk with the man who helps with that kind of thing. Telling me to start a new business. And to use the infrastructure of welfare to test these plans on how to make a living with it.
Tempted.
Curious if my world has any chance of surviving.
So I participated in a workshop today on how to sell yourself. Talk the talk. Walk the walk. Communicate a certain way. Nice people doing their utmost to be themselves and at the same time trying to present themselves in that (cold) business format. Working on that so very important first impression. Giving soundbites, sell your / a story in two minutes flat.
It really was a revelation to listen those attempts being a living (billboard) message.
I felt completely alienated.
Please decide to be normal Erik and go for the 9-5 job with hopefully some satisfaction and money to lead a life like most of us do. Be part of the team, a working social community, network, structure the crazy world of men.
